THE GREAT WHITE HYPE

In 1995 Dr Nelson Mandela, uTata, as depicted in the movie INVICTUS went against the wishes of the majority of his Movement, his Party and the people, to retain the Springbok emblem and name. For the sake of reconciliation and as an offering of goodwill. Later to cement it he donned The Springbok Captain's Jersey for that now fabled final where The Springboks edged out The All Blacks.
Three years later President Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was hauled into court for daring to challenge South African Rugby Union boss Louis Luyt. To this day the demographic of The Springboks has not changed since then. In fact the state of South African rugby reflects the South African truth.
Truth is the real beneficiaries of the New South Africa has been the historically advantaged, whose standard of living has improved even more with the benefits that come with  democracy;  precedent setting Universal Human Rights, Freedoms and Protections.
The social and economical infrastructure of Apartheid stands firm running like a well oiled machine dutifully maintained by the ANC government. The South African government can ill afford to have it slip lest they be perceived as turning, predictably,  into another Banana Republic. So Mandela's INVICTUS legacy continues.
Mandela is seen as a great example of Statesmanship and forgiveness. The free press now attacks the South African government ruthlessly as if  it were not democratically mandated but a corrupt and tyrannical regime. The opposition savagely accuses the government of not doing enough in a mere 18 years knowing full well that a negotiated settlement, international pressure, the Constitution and the rule of law; the very pillars of democracy, doesn't allow wholesale transformation and restructuring of Colonial and Apartheid architecture.
But most overwhelming is that the magnanimous generosity and goodwill by the majority of the people represented by the efforts of Mandela and the ANC has not  been matched.
The attitude is that Mandela and the Truth & Reconciliation Commission wiped the slate clean, removed all responsibility  and past wrongs, all ill-gotten gains, all advantage and privilege accrued through over 300 years of Colonialism and Apartheid. The attitude is all social and economic gains from tyranny are legitimate and well deserved, justifiably earned.  Therefore there is no need for restitution. Affirmative action is reverse racism. Transformation should only come through better education, separate but equal. Healthcare should be survival of the richest.  Land reform should desist and be at the land owners whim and discretion.
The history of South Africa remains as in the last 50 years, beginning with Jan Van Riebeeck landing in Cape Town 1652. It  then follows the  trailblazing trajectory  of civilization until  Mandela, like a true martyr, pardons all sins.  Thus no longer encumbered by the past, ascension is guaranteed, guilt free and conscious clear.
The belief is that continued democratic majority rule by a black government will lead to anarchy and the country sliding into a Banana Republic like all the other African colonies or worse ending up like Zimbabwe. Therefore leadership by a Margaret Thatcher like Joan of Arc will restore South Africa to its true place alongside Australia, New Zealand and Canada as one of the great sons of the Mother Country.
Cape Town the Mother City, Pretoria not Tshwane, the Capital, Johannesburg or should I say Sandton the economic and industrial centre, Durban the great port city and Port Elizabeth , East London and Bloemfontein all doing what they have always done:  selling and sending our best resources (human, mineral, manufactured, agricultural and intellectual) to Mother Country for a good profit. Hopefully that profit will trickle down slowly growing a black middle class that must be indoctrinated into the values of Western Culture both social and economic as the only route to success and prosperity.
Actually after looking at the history of  all countries that have gone against the grain, I am tempted to agree.  Venezuela until recently was sent backwards by the despotic President Hugo Chavez, following in the ill conceived footsteps of Cuba's Fidel Castro. Russia is really a pseudo-democratic dictatorship under Vladimir Putin,  China is a useful Communist Dictatorship, Libya's Muammar Qaddaffi was swindled then publicly lynched, Syria is scrambled eggs, Zimbabwe is a bonefide Banana Republic, and  Iran is  dangerously close to destruction.
I mean no Black Government in Africa has ever come close to the kind of success and prosperity as Australia or Canada or even pre- 1980's South Africa. Lets's face it if the ANC doesn't quit this BRICS nonsense it will continue to go downhill. Every country in Africa is growing faster than South Africa. Nigeria will soon surpass us as the biggest economy in Africa  and the way things are going we'll soon be downgraded below Portugal and Greece. If South Africa doesn't change its ways, we too shall have an Arab Spring leaving us an ungovernable and vulnerable mess like Egypt and Tunisia.
There is really only one way out for the ANC and South Africans. We need to turn to the Great White Hope, Helen Zille. She will restore sanity and show us the way back to our  true destiny, shackled as we've always been and still are to HRH.
VOTE DEMOCRATIC ALLIANCE because  AFRICAN NATIONAL CONGRESS = ZIMBABWE, VENEZUELA or CUBA
Thank Heavens we gave up our Nuclear Weapons.
