Je Suis Ravie (I am ravished)
by Odidi Mfenyana
They say only women are complex, perplex and
express
Contradictory notions that allow them to reign
as Queens
Of a mind that can change at whim or wallow
Languishing slavishly in sorrow
Of perceived pain inflicted by the simple
minded
Wooden male mind
Reduced to dim witted whipping posts
For lack of emotional dexterity does not reward
compassion
This is stereotypical hyperbole in the
histrionic method of hyperventilating situation comedy regurgitated sustainably
and endlessly as to warrant gravitas as more than what it is: a jackass
A waddling, shuffling unintellectual yet
gratuitously successful rule that divides and rules its enemy symbiosis
That seamless blending of mind, thought, memory
and perception with touch, taste sight and sound
This is cruelly excised, severed, shanked and
shoved to distant separate corners and shamed with putrid immorality
A pestilence that oozes and permeates
scandalously extinguishing authenticity in humanity
Blinding all possibility of truth touching
kissing caressing seeing hearing ululating the sacred depths of intuitions’
love divine adored
A way of being that combines the bitter with
the sweet
A natural inclination of inclusion
Dig deep dip low breathe in hum slow
Catch a fire ignited by assimilation
acclimation, transformation and mutation
Mutual admiration, affirmation a declaration of
sharing, caring and daring
Immaculate destiny is messy, murky and
mysteriously pure
Revel and be ravished!
